Today I would like to tell you more about how the song “Baraka” was written and its meaning on our album “The Never Ending Way of ORwarriOR”.

Baraka started out as a couple of short riff sequences with different tempos and atmospheres: one with a Greek element strongly attached to it, one with a Moroccan rhythm and some melodic riffs I had in the corner of my mind. Essentially it turned out to be a heavy, yet quite melodic and harmonic piece . It became a pivot song in the album’s conceptual tale as well.

Baraka is the song that opens the third and last chapter of the story of the Warrior of Light. It revolves around the Warriors of Light atmosphere and preparations before going to their last battle, the final war as “terrorists of light”. But in contradiction to a terrorist, they do not kill in the name of any god. They illuminate people, enlighten them, wake lost souls with their internal light. They make people realize that the horrible world they live in is their own creation, poisoned by darkness, the blindness from the fruit of Eden that dwells in each and every one of us.

Baraka (blessing) is one of the names of ORwarriOR, the Warrior of Light and the song unveils as he blesses his fellows before embarking on their final battle against darkness…
